A three-day Rize itinerary can be planned by separating the city centre, valley stops toward Çamlıhemşin and Ayder. This is a flexible outline, not a fixed tour or a year-round driving schedule. Adjust the stops to current weather, road conditions, opening hours and your group’s pace.
Day 1: get to know Rize city
Use the first day for cultural and viewpoint stops in the city. GoTürkiye’s Rize route suggestions list places such as the historic bazaar, Rize Castle, Ziraat Botanic Tea Garden and museums. Check visiting hours and current access before going; you do not need to fit every stop into one day. Leave time for tea and a meal in town.
Day 2: choose a few stops in Fırtına Valley
On the Çamlıhemşin side, choose one arch bridge, the Şenyuva area or Zilkale as a main destination. If the route is suitable, consider Palovit Waterfall as an additional stop. Check the route on a map and confirm parking, visiting hours and access conditions. Official suggestions group some valley stops into different route ideas, so you can spread them across days.
Day 3: slow down in Ayder
Keep the third day lighter around Ayder centre. Plan a walk or a viewpoint pause, and confirm current access to waterfalls such as Gelintülü and Gürgendibi. If you want to visit a thermal facility, ask the operator about opening times and entry conditions. Leave enough time for your return journey.
Adapt the plan to weather and roads
Rain, fog, ground conditions and visibility may affect highland roads. Each morning, check a current forecast and local road notices. Research the route, vehicle suitability and parking in advance. Follow local warnings and do not insist on a closed or unsafe route.
If you stay overnight in Ayder
Confirm the accommodation location, room layout, guest capacity and cancellation terms. Compare the Deluxe and Superior bungalows and ask about your dates. Browse GoTürkiye’s sample Rize routes for official route ideas.
